Myth Makers

This activity helps students to understand how stories are structured through the lens of analyzing mythology to write their own. This comes as an optional second activity correlating to the Myth Madness activity. After having read Ancient Greek Myths, identifying traits of the characters and storylines, they will now make their own. Not only does this apply to Greek mythology, but it maps well onto other storytelling methods as well.

This is a project that took multiple days for my students, as writing fully stories using a planned arc was something they hadn’t experienced before. I compiled their myths into an anthology book as a gift to their parents at the end of my semester, located in the Student Work section.
